The Mummy
Egyptian mummies are the preserved remains of ancient Egyptians, typically wrapped in linen and adorned with jewellery, that have been a source of fascination for centuries. Their appearances in horror literature and films, following the 1922 discovery of King Tut’s tomb by Howard Carter, have contributed to the popular cultural perception of mummies as ominous and dangerous beings. Some notable mummy films include the 1932 classic The Mummy, the 1999 action-adventure film The Mummy, and the 2017 supernatural action film The Mummy.
