Haunted Black Country

Haunted Black Country gathers reported apparitions and eerie local stories from across the West Midlands region. Philip Solomon takes in places including Brierley Hill, Walsall, Netherton, Darlaston and Dudley, bringing together accounts linked to haunted buildings, historical horrors and other locations with unsettling reputations.

The collection ranges from poltergeist activity and ghost sightings to stories of ancient spirits and silent spectres. Compiled by Solomon during his association with the Wolverhampton Express & Star, it includes tales that had not previously appeared in print. The result is a compact record of the Black Country’s darker folklore, presenting local reports and traditions rooted in recognisable towns and communities.
