Haunted Suffolk

Haunted Suffolk gathers reported apparitions, poltergeist activity and other supernatural encounters from more than 150 locations across the county. Pete Jennings draws on historical and contemporary sources, bringing together local traditions alongside accounts attributed to witnesses and investigators.

Among the incidents included are the Eagle Street poltergeist in Ipswich and the Brown Monk and Grey Nun associated with the abbey ruins at Bury St Edmunds. The collection ranges from older ghost lore attached to Suffolk buildings and ruins to more recent claims of manifestations and spirit encounters, presenting the county as a landscape where stories of the dead remain closely tied to particular places.
