Walking Haunted London

Walking Haunted London sets out 25 routes through London and nearby locations, linking streets, buildings, pubs and theatres with reported apparitions, ghost stories and darker episodes from the capital’s past. Richard Jones includes well-known names and places, among them Jack the Ripper, the Tower of London, Highgate, Berkeley Square and Pluckley, alongside less familiar local traditions.

The walks are arranged for practical exploration, with route maps, transport details and information about opening times. One example travels from Westminster to Piccadilly via Whitehall, the Adelphi arches, the Strand, Embankment Place and several West End theatres, while accounts associated with places such as Gordon’s Wine Bar add atmospheric detail to the routes.
