Adventures in Nature

Adventures in Nature brings together original stories and traditional tales with seasonal ways for families to spend time outdoors. Organised around the Wheel of the Year, its entries connect storytelling with close attention to the changing natural world, from the first signs of spring to the turning of winter. The approach draws on older customs while remaining practical and accessible for family use.

Alongside each story, Dawn Nelson includes simple craft projects, outdoor activities and mindful moments. The book therefore moves between folklore, observation and hands-on participation, encouraging curiosity about local surroundings and a greater awareness of seasonal change. Nelson’s experience as a Hampshire storyteller shapes a collection that treats nature as both a source of stories and a setting for shared activity.
