Alan Murdie combines previously unpublished material with investigations of better-known stories, drawing on archival sources, his own collection and material associated with ghost investigator Andrew Green.
The accounts move through Edinburgh’s streets and buildings, including convents, cellars, churches and attics, presenting hauntings as claims rooted in particular places and histories. Among the incidents discussed is a Victorian report from Blackett Place, where a family alleged that a white figure pushed a girl downstairs.
