Haunted Enfield

Haunted Enfield gathers reported ghost stories, local legends and documentary evidence from across the London Borough of Enfield. Jason Hollis looks beyond the area’s most famous case to examine a wider collection of places and traditions linked with haunting claims.

The book discusses the Enfield Poltergeist alongside the phantom coach associated with Bell Lane and Enfield Highway, whose reported appearances extend into Ponders End. Other accounts concern the corridors of Trent Park mansion, Forty Hall and Myddelton House, as well as a ghostly little girl said to haunt the King and Tinker pub. Based on Hollis’s long-term research into Enfield’s history and folklore, the book presents these stories as part of the borough’s hidden local history.
