Irish Ghosts

Irish Ghosts presents accounts from more than 100 places associated with reported hauntings across Ireland. Peter Underwood combines local history with details of the people connected to each location, anecdotes, alleged encounters and notes on the frequency of claimed activity. Witness names and available evidence are included where recorded, giving the entries a practical, reference-style shape.

The reported phenomena range from apparitions to unsettling sounds and recurring local traditions. Among the cases are a man carrying a basin containing his severed head, a girl whose hands appear to drip with blood, and a body floating in blood-red water. Other accounts feature banshee cries, mocking laughter, the noise of battle and someone apparently choking, preserving the variety of Ireland’s ghost lore and haunting reports.
