Confessions of a Ghost-Hunter

Confessions of a Ghost-Hunter presents Harry Price’s personal account of how he became involved in ghost-hunting and psychical research. Alongside reminiscences of his early interest in magic and reported paranormal experiences, he considers dreams, fairies, leprechauns and the stories attached to haunted places.

The book includes accounts of Glamis and other Scottish hauntings, family ghost traditions, alleged apparitions in America and incidents associated with lectures and social gatherings. Price writes as an investigator rather than a believer, repeatedly questioning testimony and exposing what he regarded as fraudulent mediumship. His 1936 memoir therefore combines case reports, personal recollection and criticism of spiritualist claims, offering a revealing account of how one of Britain’s best-known ghost-hunters presented his methods and conclusions.
