About this book
Haunted Sheffield gathers reported ghost stories told by Steel City Tours’ ghost walkers, Mr and Mrs P Dreadful, placing Sheffield’s pubs, theatres and public buildings at the centre of the book. The accounts include a ghostly coachman at the Brown Bear in Norfolk Street, a woman in black associated with the Graduate, and a spirit said to disturb beer glasses at the Museum pub.
The Lyceum is reported to have three ghosts, among them the enigmatic Ben, while other stories concern the Central Library, Sheffield Cathedral, Boots the Chemists and the Roxy nightclub. Together, these cases present a city where theatres, shops, pubs and civic spaces all carry their own traditions of haunting.
