Haunted York

Haunted York gathers reported apparitions and uncanny traditions from one of England’s most historic cities. Rupert Matthews covers stories attached to York Minster, where a medieval stonemason is said to remain, and the Treasurer’s House, whose cellars are associated with sightings of marching Roman soldiers.

The book also visits King’s Manor, Micklegate Bar, Exhibition Square, St Mary’s Church and several city pubs, bringing together accounts from historical and contemporary sources.
