Renfrewshire

To the west of Glasgow lies the historic county of Renfrewshire. Its main town of Paisley, with its brooding abbey and the medieval St Mirin’s Cathedral, is steeped in a history of witch trials, painting a chilling tableau of Scotland’s darker past. Its other main towns include Renfrew, Johnstone, Greenock and Erskine.
