The UFO Files: The Inside Story of Real-Life Sightings

The UFO Files traces more than a century of British reports of unexplained objects and lights, using accounts preserved in Ministry of Defence records. David Clarke follows the changing language and official response surrounding aerial phenomena, from early 20th-century observations to the Cold War and the final government investigations.

The cases include Winston Churchill’s 1952 enquiry, RAF sightings at Farnborough and Topcliffe, radar reports, Rendlesham Forest, Roswell, crop circles and alleged abductions. Witness interviews sit alongside photographs, drawings and government papers, while the book considers how misidentification, secrecy, military concerns and popular belief shaped Britain’s UFO story.
