Illustrated Tales of Northumberland

Northumberland's landscapes and historic buildings form the background to this illustrated survey of local legends and unusual stories. Kirkup explores traditions associated with places such as Dunstanburgh Castle and Sewingshield Crags, including the tale of King Arthur and his sleeping knights. Photographs accompany accounts that connect the county's folklore, myths and remembered past with recognisable locations.
