Revelations of a Spirit Medium

Revelations of a Spirit Medium presents an anonymous former medium’s account of how séance phenomena could be produced through trickery. The text discusses escapes from ropes, sacks and cabinets, alongside methods associated with spirit hands and other apparently supernatural manifestations. Rather than treating mediumship as evidence of survival after death, it exposes the practical deceptions claimed to lie behind popular spiritualist performances.

Harry Price and Eric J. Dingwall’s 1922 edition reproduces the earlier text as a facsimile, with editorial notes and supporting reference material. Its bibliography, glossary and index place the work within the history of psychical research, while the anonymous author’s insider perspective gives the volume a distinctly practical focus on fraudulent mediumship and séance technique.
