Ghosts of the South East gathers reported hauntings from across South East England, arranging local stories around the places where they were said to occur. Andrew Green includes inns, public buildings, roads and other sites in Hertfordshire, Surrey and Kent, presenting the accounts alongside details of their locations and associated histories.

Among the cases are a hooded monk reportedly seen at the Brocket Arms, a grey lady associated with the George Inn, religious singing and a cloaked figure at Brooklands Racetrack, and a dark figure witnessed near ponds on Bodiam Road.
