Haunted Dartmoor: A Ghost Hunter's Guide gathers reported legends and haunting traditions from across Devon's moorland landscape. Rather than treating Dartmoor as a single haunted setting, it separates the material into individual locations, giving each story its own concise treatment and sense of place.

Each double-page spread pairs directions or access information with the tradition associated with that location, making the book part folklore collection and part walking companion. The emphasis is on local storytelling: accounts attached to particular sites, routes and landmarks, presented as traditions rather than established supernatural fact. Illustrations by George Thurlow accompany R. W. Bamberg's survey of Dartmoor's ghost-lore and legend.
