Spirits in the Vaults: Liverpool's Haunted Pubs

Spirits in the Vaults collects Tom Slemen’s accounts of reported hauntings and supernatural incidents linked to Liverpool pubs. The book visits a range of city venues, from the Childwall Abbey Hotel and Belvedere to the Newington Pub, Cambridge Pub and Oxford Pub, presenting stories attached to their rooms, cellars and histories.

Among the cases are a ghost associated with the Childwall Abbey Hotel, a subterranean figure beneath the Cambridge Pub, alleged witchcraft at the Swan Inn and a threatening presence at the Poste House. Other accounts feature the so-called Pink Lady at the Vines, a bottled demon at the Empire Pub and disturbing encounters at the Old Post Office.
