Scream Queen: A Memoir

Yvette Fielding’s memoir combines her rise from child television presenter to one of Britain’s best-known paranormal broadcasters with accounts from a long career investigating reported hauntings. She recalls séances, Ouija boards, table tipping and unexplained knocking, alongside early experiences in a family home where televisions and kitchen cupboards appeared to behave strangely.

A central episode is her investigation of Michelham Priory, an 800-year-old Sussex building linked to the beginning of her Most Haunted adventure. Fielding also writes about Ghosthunting With..., the demands of working in television and the personal difficulties encountered away from the cameras. The result is an account of ghost-hunting work, professional persistence and a lifelong interest in claims surrounding the afterlife.
