Still in Search of Prehistoric Survivors

Still in Search of Prehistoric Survivors examines reports of animals proposed as living remnants of prehistoric or supposedly extinct lineages. Karl P. N. Shuker ranges across cryptozoological traditions worldwide, considering sea serpents, lake monsters, living dinosaurs, pterodactyls, bunyips, thunderbirds and the Nandi bear. The cases are treated as claims requiring assessment rather than accepted zoological fact.

The book also considers more specific reports, including the Gambian sea serpent, alleged living trilobites, the Loch Ness monster and neodinosaur accounts from New Guinea. Substantially expanded from Shuker’s earlier work, it brings together updated discussions, newly included cryptids, extensive illustrations, a bibliography and an index in a single reference volume.
