Gaelic Ghosts

Gaelic Ghosts gathers Scottish tales about apparitions, haunting encounters and other supernatural traditions. Sorche Nic Leodhas presents the material as folklore and storytelling rather than as an investigation of documented paranormal claims, giving the collection a distinctly literary and traditional character.

The stories belong to Scotland’s oral and popular culture, drawing on the atmosphere of its communities, landscapes and older beliefs. Written for younger readers but rooted in Scottish ghost lore, the book combines eerie incidents with the compact shape of fireside tales. Nonny Hogrogian’s illustrations accompany the collection, reinforcing its period children’s-book character while keeping the focus on reported encounters, inherited stories and the imaginative world surrounding them.
