Haunted Bolton gathers reported ghost stories and paranormal investigations from across Bolton and nearby Westhoughton. Among its cases is a room at the Blue Boar pub said to have been sealed for forty years, alongside an account of a ghostly female presence at the Old Duke and a reported poltergeist in Westhoughton.
Stuart Hilton and Michelle Cardno combine eyewitness interviews with previously unpublished investigation accounts carried out by themselves and the Lancashire Hauntings team. The book is also illustrated, adding visual context to its collection of local buildings, locations and testimony. Together, these accounts present Bolton’s darker folklore through the experiences of people who witnessed, investigated or preserved its haunting traditions.
