Haunted Manchester

Haunted Manchester gathers local ghost stories around the city’s streets, buildings and surviving historical landmarks. Flecky Bennett, the performer behind Manchester’s ghost walks, introduces reports and traditions attached to places including Chetham’s Library and Manchester Cathedral, where stories of the Devil and other apparitions have become part of the city’s folklore.

The book also recounts the story of Hannah Beswick, remembered as the Manchester Mummy, alongside tales connected with Manchester’s older streets, pubs and public buildings. Historical detail provides context for the locations, while the supernatural claims remain presented as reported experiences, inherited legends and stories shaped by repeated retelling.
