Most Haunted Theatres

Most Haunted Theatres visits nine British playhouses, combining their histories with accounts of reported apparitions and paranormal activity. The locations include London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, the Oldham Coliseum, the Lyceum, the Tivoli, Winter Gardens, the Gaumont, Craig y Nos, the Pavilion Theatre and the Old Nick.

Yvette Fielding and the Most Haunted team draw on investigations of these buildings, alongside stories connected with performers and former occupants. Among the reported figures are the ‘father of clowns’, the actor Charles Macklin, remembered in connection with a violent death, and a ballerina whose spirit is said to linger after her suicide. The result is a concise mixture of theatrical history, investigation accounts and traditional ghost stories.
