Strange Sheffield: Ghost Stories, UFO Sightings, and More All from the Steel City

Strange Sheffield gathers reported hauntings, UFO encounters and other uncanny local accounts from across the Steel City. Adrian Finney covers stories associated with Bunting Nook and the Stocksbridge Bypass, alongside tales of ghostly feet, haunted parks, a phantom carriage and a chip shop said to have vanished from its usual time.

The UFO material includes reports from police officers in Woodseats and Ecclesfield, as well as the 1997 Sheffield Incident, in which a craft was allegedly brought down in Howden Reservoir and later discussed in Parliament. Other chapters range from Graves Park and Angel Street to Mosborough and the Northern General Hospital, while historical details place these claims within Sheffield’s wider past.
