Stranger Sheffield: More Ghost Stories, UFO Encounters, & Other Strange Tales

Stranger Sheffield gathers reported hauntings, local legends and UFO accounts from Sheffield and the surrounding South Yorkshire landscape. Adrian Finney’s sources include stories sent to him during his work with Strange Sheffield Ghost Tours, alongside researched traditions attached to familiar places.

The contents range from the Black Figure of Birley Wood Golf Course and the Phantom Airman of Endcliffe Park to the Lady of Beauchief Abbey and the Helpful Spectre of Snake Pass. Other chapters consider a triangle seen in the skies, a séance in Sheffield Town Hall, the spectres of Silverwood Colliery and the curse of Mam Tor Road. The closing sections turn towards personal farewells and the idea of the modern ghost.
