Robert Bloch (1917-1994), an American author, is best known for his novel Psycho, which inspired the iconic film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, leaving a lasting impact on horror cinema across the world. He penned many British horrors including The Skull 1965, Torture Garden 1967, The House That Dripped Blood 1971 and Asylum 1972.
