The Nightmare Realm in Dublin offers a truly immersive and adrenaline-fuelled Halloween experience that transforms horror into live theatre, writes JOHN AMBROSE MARTIN
If you’re the kind of person who lives for October, if Halloween is your season and you’re craving something beyond pumpkins and party playlists, then The Nightmare Realm is your ultimate playground.
This isn’t your average haunted house. It’s like stepping into the mind of Tim Burton, where a full-blown horror universe comes to life.
Twisted stories, terrifying characters, and adrenaline-pumping thrills will keep your heart racing long after you’ve left.
Five Haunts, One Curse
This year’s theme, The Curse of the Five, ties together five uniquely horrifying mazes, each with its own vibe and villain:
- Gallows Hill Asylum: Where sanity is long gone.
- Trappers: A backwoods nightmare with twisted hunters.
- Clowns in the Attic: Chaotic, colourful, and deeply unsettling.
- SILO C: A sci-fi horror maze with government secrets gone wrong.
- A Haunting at Blackmore: A Victorian ghost story that feels like stepping into a cursed novel.

Characters That Stick With You
Each maze features Oscar-worthy actors, spine-chilling sound design, and immersive set pieces that make you forget you’re still in Dublin.
You’ll meet unforgettable characters like Molly Mayhem, the twisted queen of chaos, and her Ghoul Gang, who roam the grounds with chainsaws and unsettling charm.
Expect vampire dancers, fire breathers, and aerialists performing above your head while you try to keep yours.
The actors are phenomenal: committed, creepy, and always in character. Whether whispering in your ear or chasing you down a corridor, they know exactly how to keep you on edge.
Halloween Town: The Heartbeat of the Realm
Between the scares, catch your breath in Halloween Town, a buzzing hub of food trucks, spooky shops, and live entertainment.
Grab a bite, get a tarot reading from Miss Fortune, try your luck at summoning Beelzebub himself, or even step up to a guillotine for a chilling photo op that’ll make your friends question your sanity.
Don’t forget to explore the Museum of Horrors for eerie photo ops. Halloween Town is the perfect place to regroup… or to lean even further into the madness.
If you need to sit and relax, visit the Sponsored Horror Cinema, presented by Fanta, screening the silent classic Nosferatu in all its eerie glory.
Visitors can enjoy the atmospheric screening and even pick up a free can of Fanta just outside the cinema — a sweet reprieve before diving back into the darkness.

Facilities & Accessibility
The Nightmare Realm is designed to be as inclusive as it is terrifying.
The main attraction mazes are wheelchair accessible, and staff are on hand to assist where needed.
On-site, you’ll find toilets, a Haunted Food Court with themed snacks and drinks, and plenty of space to take a breather between scares.
There’s also a merch shop, photo ops, and many more sights and sounds to enjoy — or be freaked out by.
Where It All Happens
This year, The Nightmare Realm has taken over the Royal Liver Retail Park in Inchicore, Dublin 12.
It’s been transformed into Ireland’s biggest indoor scream park.
Getting there is easy, with public transport links and nearby parking, so no excuses.
The Nightmare Realm isn’t just a night out. It’s a full-on Halloween adventure.
If you’re in Dublin this October and want something immersive, theatrical, and genuinely thrilling, The Nightmare Realm is a true celebration of horror, creativity, and Halloween culture.
Whether you’re going with mates, on a spooky date, or flying solo, you’ll leave with stories, selfies, and maybe a few lingering chills.
It’s Dublin’s home of Halloween, and it’s calling your name.
