Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) was an American writer, poet, and literary critic, credited with pioneering the modern detective story. He is also known for his horror stories, including The Tell-Tale Heart 1843 and The Raven 1845. Many of these have been turned into classic horror films. He spent some of his youth living in England.
